𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄
Join us for the ultimate test of creativity, teamwork, and cardboard engineering at the Big Hollow Boat Battle - Cardboard Boat Race! Build and race a boat made entirely of cardboard and duct tape, all while supporting a great cause.

After registration, teams will be added to Boat Battle’s peer-to-peer voting platform, where they can receive monetary donations toward their race efforts.
Teams will compete for two special fundraising awards:
𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻’𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 – Given to the team that raises the most dollars.
𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 – Awarded to the team with the most individual donors.

𝗕𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀
𝟭。 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱:
o Corrugated cardboard (no waxed, reinforced, or factory-coated cardboard).
o Duct tape, Elmer’s wood glue, liquid nails, and water-based paint for decorating.
𝟮。 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀:
o No fiberglass resins, plastic epoxies, metal, plastic, foam core boards, or Styrofoam.
o No wrapping the entire boat in tape or other waterproof materials.
𝟯。 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀:
o Boats must be built before race day.
o The hull, seating, and superstructure must consist solely of allowed materials.
o Decorations are encouraged but must not assist with flotation or propulsion.
o The seating area cannot be enclosed above participants’ shoulders—team members must be visible at all times.

𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀
𝟭。 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
o Each boat must have a minimum of two crew members. At least one member must be inside/on top of the boat at all times.
o Participants must be 12 years or older.
𝟮。 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
o All participants must wear life jackets. Participants are encouraged to bring their own life jackets – a limited number will be available for use during the event.
o Closed-toe shoes are required.
𝟯。 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁:
o Boats will navigate a 25-meter loop course.
o Teams must start and finish with the same crew members; swapping crew members during the race is prohibited.
o No pushing, pulling, or interfering with other boats.

𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
• 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲:June 1st, 2025
• 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:All boats must pass an inspection at 12:15 PM on race day.
• 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝗨𝗽: Teams must remove their boats and any debris after the race.
